Laid off from Follett IT last October and the plan for IT at that time was outsourcing starting with external websites websphere, POS, warehouse and accounting systems. Don't see much on here about IT. They still outsourcing or did CIO realize that it would not work?

Outsourcing is alive and failing. It just hasn't reached you.
You mean this may not be well planned? How do those who fail to plan well get to decide whom is laid off?
Procurement contracts can take well over a year. They didn't gather all that information for nothing nor are they going to give employees privy to the status.
Nothing outsourced in over a years time, they must realize it is not working.
Mary Lee was pretty clear at her first town hall meeting that she believed that Follett was spending too much on IT. Her solution was offshore outsourcing. Quality does not enter into it. As long some kind of total crap is produced, she will be happy.
