UOP has a serious brand image problem

In their advance to grow at all costs this school--like many of the others in the for-profit sector-grew without regard to student success and only did an about face when federal regulators came knocking. Honestly the curriculum is good, it's the methods used to teach and assess that need more work. The school should also institute assessments to target at-risk students that need remediation in math, English, and college research methods and reading. The real issue here is one of ubiquity--for far too long this school graduated ANYONE. This has been disastrous for the brand as barely functional literates are submitting resumes with a UOP undergraduate degree littered with the most basic grammar and spelling errors. I would estimate as much as 60% of the degreed undergrads fall into this category.

I was wrong. 72% of this school's graduates earn less than high school drop outs.
