I was laid off last year from WF's SJP location. I had been there for many years. WFT likes to ride below the radar and layoff people in amounts that don't raise a lot of attention. There is never going to be thousands let go all at once. It will be 20 here, 20 there, maybe the next month it's a little more or a little less.
Regarding IT, the people are great, but they are worked to death. in 2010, i think, there was a large layoff that got rid of a lot of IT, leaving a bare minimum. WFT outsourced the IT issues to India and employees HATED it. It was terrible. I suppose they have been ramping back up, but IT was one of the first cuts.
