Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

More Information Needed About Parthenon Parties (for Expose)

I have checked the Internet about the Parthenon parties that CCi has every year, and I can't find anything. I know some people are angry because layoffs are occurring as they continue to spend on these lavish outings.

I'm looking for the dates and locations of the parties (date, city, hotel), costs of the parties, the specific expenses (amount spent on hotel rooms, alcohol, entertainment), and any images that show what happens there. You can email me the information at the above address (dahnshaulis@gmail.com).

In 2007, Parthenon was in San Antonio, Texas. They stayed at the Hyatt right on the River Walk (cost per room for campus personnel was $250 per night). The evenings were filled with parties (day 1 - party and dinner buffet with band in hotel), day 2 - dinner and awards for campus personnel at the Convention Center), day 3 - evening gala for regional and corporate personnel awards at hotel. Day actives were day 1 - comedy show followed by excursions such as historical tour of San Antonio or white water river rafting in the Gruene River (1 hour ride provided by CCI. The next day was a gathering to rah rah for the campus employees followed by games like Price Is Right where people won flat screen TV among other electronics. Breakfast was a buffet on the second front of the hotel with eggs, bacon, ham, muffins, bagels, fruits, etc. 3 full days and nights of fun for all regionals, corporate and a few campus employees who m had been selected by each campus leadership. Further, every night, there were gifts left in the hotel rooms for everyone such as pewter serving trays and huge Aluminum BBQ sets. Campus selection criteria was the management team getting together and deciding who was deserving, only admissions, financial aid, Dean, president were part of this meeting. Then the Dean would tell the program directors who supervise faculty to pick from the ones that were selected. They picked although they often had others they wanted to nominate but if they were not picked by the campus senior management team, they were not eligible.

There is nothing wrong with Parthenon in my eyes, These people often work hard and deserve the recognition.

I have been to four Parthenons, and I would hardly call them "lavish" by any means. Decent hotels, not particularly upscale ones by my standards. Good food. Some wine. Lots of rah-rah for the sales staff.
