Thread regarding Weight Watchers International Inc. layoffs

We have layoffs right now

And nobody is posting. That's pathetic. Weight Watchers is notoriously secretive when it comes to layoffs and people have no clue about what's going on as it relates to layoffs. 2014 layoffs are even more secretive, you cannot find any piece of reliable info online, I am puzzled why our folks are not posting anything here? Thanks to the poster below, the VP cuts info is pretty good but we do need more info, locations, etc.

I was laid off too last Sept by my manager who giggled throughout it. Such an unprofessional manager.

I’m a member that just started attending the video meetings. Have paid my dues even tho I haven’t been going, just waiting for the Studio to open up. This is very disturbing news. The Coaches do this out of love for the members. They are WW. Shame on your leadership for what appears to be a heartless way of handling this in such a difficult time. It’s not too late to be kind and to think about how you can restore these jobs.

They need to be upfront about how they chose who to fire no one knows how and why it was done. It’s not fair to us loyal employees with string member connections. In essence we are dead to them now!

The execution was cold, about as weak as it gets, and in a case that hits close to home, it was done by someone who had very little personal equity with the people she "muted" then let go after two decades of service.

Laid off employees were told the decision wasn't personal and was made by HR, legal, and higher admin. My friend had 12 year, worked more than 7 meetings a week, managed 2 locations. Employees with less time and experience were kept. She was devoted to the company and well respected by her peers and loved by members. I guess they just spun the Wheel of Fortune to decide who to cut. I was spared...this time. Waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Yes, thousands in the US and Canada were canned by Joe in a cold audio call. I’ve worked for the company for 7 years. Good luck staffing your Studio, if it reopens. In a new email Mindy states , as a health and wellness company, your well-being is top priority. Earlier this year we were told WW was changing their footprint, and would be closing some studios. In my opinion, they will loose even more members who did not attend the Virtual meetings ,especially the nontechnical ,without that personal experience we provided.
I’m a retired Food and Nutrition teacher. It was fun while it lasted, but overall it was a big corporation pushing sales and numbers. It was the caring staff that kept people coming back.

It's true, and it's done in a heartless 4 minute muted zoom call where your Territory Manager just reads a canned "you're all canned" letter and then disconnects.
