I was laid off 2/24 and got my 401k check today. I wanted it as far away from Weatherford as possible. I hope they release or allow you to roll over your 401k soon. Good Luck
Any "real" knowledge about what companies/ parts of WFT will be included in the divestitures? I was doing some reading last night on several places and found where over 5 billion will be auctioned off/sold.
I heard the same thing circulating about projects being put on hold and cut backs here at Spencer Road. I'm on the completions side. I also heard from a GMs mouth about the 42,000 thousand reduction from divestitures and 7,000 reduction from layoffs. He said that an HR Manager told him that the numbers from divesting in certain businesses did not add up to 42k. They are going to have to go deeper to hit those numbers.
Weatherford is a mess.
What completion division were they talking about closing?
Sounds like it is time to get some lawyers involved. Good luck everyone
well they must be going down, laid off 02/25/14 they still wont let me touch my 401k they cancelled insurance 03/01/14, told us they were paying for the month of march. have calls in to local HR , no response, what's new!! if you are having any problems contact David Dyer, 713-836-6510 head of HR for the united states. Angela Gonzalus? for benefits (insurance)713-321-1305. No cobra paperwork in the mail as of date??? Sorry we are just numbers in this game of weatherford going down the tubes. Yes was a decent company to work for but not anymore. Get everything in writing!!! and when they wont do it , your number is coming up. Goodluck to all!!
TWO LET GO AT Aldine Friday and Monday.
Suppliers are not getting paid in March...unless they are threatening legal action.Sounds like BANKRUPTCY TIME. Several Projects are also being placed on hold indefinitely which has some Project Managers very nervous.
There has been talk of closing some Completions divisions that are underperforming.
Also, the total reduction from divestitures and layoffs will be 49,000.
If Weatherford was at 67,000, that will take the number of employees to 18,000.
In my opinion it seems the storm is pretty much over for the corporate office. Maybe they've moved on to other countries, but I can't confirm.
I am a nervous, anxious employee looking for any news that is out there. Why would you be really curious?? Everyone is on pins and needles across the board waiting to see where HR will show up next.
Do you work for the website or Weatherford? Just "really" curious.
Nothing is happening here in Houston
