The layoffs are showed towards older, more experienced persons who are higher paid. From my own observations, none that I know were poor performers. Several departments have been increasing staff sizes in their Indian offices. A colleague was told to train a new hire in India before he was laid off. His only consolation is that the new hire in India is dumb as a stone where he has been reasonably successful. It looks to be an effort to offshore Higher paying US jobs.

I was laid off from UnitedHealth Group on 3/26/2014, I was being told same day. After working for 10yrs, this is not what i expected. They are hiring big time in India. This company is not properly managed, in IT they hire managers from anywhere. They laid off 300 people same day/
