It looks like Military is the one who is pissing on Dahn.
@Military, I'm looking forward to your next response, but I doubt that you'll reply. I know you don't have the courage to state your name. So you think all these sources are liars? Why do you think Leon Panetta resigned from the CCi Board and returned all of his compensation? ....http://www.militarytimes.com/article/20140305/EDU03/303050019/For-profit-schools-hit-lawsuits-subpoenas....http://www.armytimes.com/article/20140305/EDU03/303050019/For-profit-schools-hit-lawsuits-subpoenas....http://www.navytimes.com/article/20140305/EDU03/303050019/For-profit-schools-hit-lawsuits-subpoenas....http://www.usnews.com/opinion/blogs/carrie-wofford/2013/11/11/this-veterans-day-help-a-vet-avoid-a-gi-bill-for-profit-college-scam....http://www.yelp.com/biz/heald-college-concord....http://www.salon.com/2012/06/05/americas_worst_educators/....http://articles.latimes.com/2013/oct/10/business/la-fi-mh-corinthian-20131010....
Dahn, you imagine lots of things, most of which are figments of your imagination. You keep begging for proof of those figments. Got any proof yet, Dahn?
@Military. Please do feign compassion for veterans. Most people looking at this site know better about CCi and its contempt for many veterans--unless they are delusional. I didn't say all veterans were vulnerable. I am stating that some veterans are more vulnerable to CCi advertising and recruiting--particularly those who come from less privileged backgrounds, or who have experienced a disability. I imagine that some recruiters and management actually joke about these people. CCi employees, if you have documentation of this disrespect to veterans, please let me know.
I wouldn't expect most people who post on this website to understand the point being made here. Dahn apparently has a very low view of our military veterans, which is sad, considering he claims to be a veteran. Nobody mentioned veterans with mental disabilities. That is a red herring. We are discussing Dahn's point that veterans in general are ill-informed and are not equipped to make decisions. That's the point Dahn was making, and I strongly disagree with him. Veterans who chose to attend CCi schools had the tools necessary to make informed decisions. They aren't children. They aren't incompetent (as Dahn would have you believe). They aren't vulnerable (again as Dahn would have you believe).
They were not victims. They made choices freely. I'm not saying they made the best choices, but they were free choices. Information about alternatives to CCi can be found everywhere.
I worked at a school where many vets were disabled, some with mental disabilities. Are you suggesting that vets are immune to being taken advantage of? If so, why do we have homeless vets? Also, suggesting that someone is stupid for letting themselves be taken advantage of sounds like something a corrupt CCI exec would say.
Dahn, really? Vulnerable to marketers? Someone with military training doesn't know how to hang up the phone? Come on. You know better than that. The entire argument that CCi "victimized" these students is specious. I can imagine getting some of these students in a deposition and asking, "Are you really as stupid as you now claim to be?"
@Military?, your response sounds insincere to me. I am a military veteran. What is says is that they are vulnerable to predators like CCi.
Reminds me of airplanes: Millions fly safely, but one flight comes up missing, and it's the end of the world.
What does that say about our military? You're saying this guy was vulnerable and had limited information? Nice, Dahn. Slam our veterans.
Alternatives: go to community college, go to a state college as a special student. There are many possibilities, if you know about colleges and admissions. The problem about FPEs is that they take advantege of people who have limited information and who are vulnerable.
Why was Murray Hastie denied admission by those two state colleges? What should he have done instead of applying to DeVry?
