Some going to B&N some must dropping the contract. Neither side is going to sign long term contracts.
Good for her that took courage and honesty. Enough said on those two outstanding values! Thank you Debbie!
several cases of follett losing the contract to go independent?
Leasing a store is dumb. Go independent. Several cases of that recently.
Are we picking up contracts or just losing them? B and N seems to be offering more $$?
@Anonymous8698, Debbie Willis was fired from the company. She notified all her store managers as to what really had happened. She did not "resign".
How many so far MA?
What happen to RM Debbie Willies
A lot in ma.
SNHU recently notified Follett that it would be ending its current bookstore contract and soliciting new suitors.
Hearing contracts are being lost to b & n?
More bully tactics. Seems to be the theme lately in many areas.
@8522 Mighty Follett LMAO That was a joke right?
To Abyss:
Follett may have lost the on campus store, but last month they opened up an off campus store across the street from school, called SKYO text and fans. Good luck competing with the mighty Follett.
They could add NO public announcement from Follett concerning apparel items from JanSport in Follett sells at their bookstores and is “letting JanSport off the hook,” said Lingran Kong a member of SLAC and chairman of the Labor Codes Licensing Compliance Committee. “VF and JanSport should be treated with the same licensing expectations,”
Several demonstrations marking the one-year anniversary of the collapse of the Rana Plaza factory in Dhaka that killed 1,134 workers and injured 2,515 targeted JanSport or its parent company, VF Corporation. Follett remains silent while 150 mostly European companies have signed the Accord and 26 mostly American companies have signed the alliance to provide new labor laws workers some protections.
Multiply contracts are under review. Even though Follett has a contract the University can end the relationship if they feel Follett is acting illegally or not acting in the best interest of the school and students. Many schools are receiving anonymous letters about the mistreatment of employees and students. Students that no longer work for Follett are coming forward with their stories in support of their fellow co-workers that remain working for Follett and those that were laid off.
