Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

Empty Classes due to low enrollment? Full Staff? What happens next?

So many have posted they have no classes this term. What does that mean? Can CCI survive the term? They only get $ per student. Will the lack of students make them shut down?

Faculty don't fill classes. But they only need faculty for classes that are full . . .

It's a domino effect. No students. No adjuncts. Eventually layoffs in management and so forth. It's weird they're trying to trim the fat by eliminating low paying contract jobs that the company pays no benefits on.

Ugh...This sounds like denial. Here's how it works. If you're adjunct, and there's no classes, you're gone. Adjuncts are disposable. Once all the adjuncts are gone, the FT faculty will go. We are all AT WILL employees. That means they can cut us loose whenever they want.

No, what? Faculty is only hired to fill classes. So, they don't technically cut back on those. I'm asking what happens when full staffing leads to no work or these not enough money to keep a full staff with only a fraction of the students?

Ummmm.....no. But the faculty will be cut to match demand for classes.
