Phoenix Enrollment

We can't flip the enrolled students into an active status. We are just writing paper at this point in Phoenix. My guess is that once (if) we get cleared by the new monitor to do so, we can enter them into the system.

I think the other side of it is that we have been told to have the student sign the disclosure as quickly as possible and not draw attention to it.

HLC can dictate to one of their schools whether or not they can activate a student in this situation. The paper sits there until approval is granted.

21581, it isn't the disclosure process, it is the teach-out plan. HLC is concerned there is no back-up plan to a sale. It is possible that CCi will offer up a buyer that HLC would not approve of and could potentially have to be taught out. They want to see that a back-up plan is in place so if the worse happens, students have options.

Remember, 3 years ago the HLC President was called in front of a Senate Committee and ripped for lack of over site on Bridgepoint Education (who runs Ashford). They want to be able to show they were cautious and acted in the interest of students first.

The teach-out plan is due before the end of July, so hopefully the school will be eligible shortly to enroll for the August start.

I don't understand why that would delay flipping students to active? HLC cannot tell CCi to not activate students.

This has nothing to do with a disclosure. Per Doctor Johnson they have requested placement rates, event though we don't have to maintain certain rates to keep our accreditation they still want them, I'm guessing to cover the hLC from a legal stand point.

Walter - why is the disclosure process taking so long? Seems like this should have been completed within a few days of the agreement with DOE.

This is not a teach-out. HLC cannot just shut a school down without extensive due process. This is to create a disclosure that fully informs students.

ummm this seems more like TEACH-OUT than delay of HLC and CCI reivewed terms and conditions for July 2 to current for start dates.

I know there is an emphasis on hiring career services to be I site for online. They are hiring an entire department, maybe this is part of the issue?

An earlier post indicated it was the accreditors, who want similar paperwork the DE requested. (And apparently they don't like the release to sign. From those posts it sounds like there will be no new enrollment so for the regular classes this term. Although nothing has been confirmed by management.
