Read this disclosure from the HLC and share your thoughts. It sounds like they could make it difficult for a buyer that they don't like.

Anonymous21932- My guess is that is total garbage.
Latest news is that non-related organizations are looking into ECP.. as in owners who have nothing to do with the school industry (profit / non-profit). IT firms are taking interest at the online portions but we will see.
Yes, the HLC can and should make it difficult for just anyone to buy a fully (regionally) accredited college, as is the case with Everest College Phoenix (ECP). The last thing that ECP and ECP students need is to become a nationally accredited school that provides low value degrees like EUOnline. It's in the students'(especially alumni) interest that ECP either closes or maintains its regional accreditation through a rigorous evaluation of any sale by the HLC.
This states that it's either going to sell or go to teach out. This is not new information. It just confirms that Everest will not exist in 6-12 months' time.
This pretty much sound like ECP will go teach out, really sad that transfer to new owners is going to be difficult.
And everyone thinks some "non-profit organization" will swoop in and save the day. lol
