Students ask for help and maybe some leniency because they have a reading comprehension issue or do not understand the assignments and the instructors do not help in every way that they promise. They beat around the bush and do not give direct answers to the question(s). The developers of the assignments for the discussion boards and individual work assignments are poorly administered and developed. They have more grammatical errors, punctuation errors and do not provide any reference sources, but yet the students are required to provide references, have proper grammar and spelling, along with proper English with proper punctuation. There are some instructors that make more grammatical, reference and punctuation mistakes than the students do. Yes, I saw some students that have issues structuring a proper sentence along with the instructor responding to it with improper grammar and when I would respond with "Please clarify your post" I get my ass chewed out for asking for better clarification by the instructor. So, the instructors, student services and the rest of the employees complaining about students, take a look in the mirror at why some students do not want to bother doing the work. You all are like the kettle calling the pot black. CONTRADICTORY!!
The initial platform is not user friendly as we have to go to different web sites to log in to view our degree plan, account, documents, etc. outside of the classroom portal. The classroom portal does not provide a one time log in to review everything that deals with financial aid documents, degree plan, etc. Make it all one site and stop wasting money on multiple url's that take up more bandwidth than that of utilizing two or more url's. It would be beneficial to incorporate live weekly seminars to help assist students. They work WONDERS!!!!
