What's the textbook situation?

Have all current students received them?

Anonymous22455 - Sure, I completely understand. If you're able to find the email (or anyone else reading this thread who may have a copy), just let me know.

Kelly, I will if I can still access my email. Like I said, since my classes didn't fill, I am now considered inactive. I haven't checked to see if I can still access my accounts, since there's been no reason to.

Anonymous22452 - Thank you for the helpful response. Any chance you'd be willing to send me a copy of that email? If so, you can direct any additional communication to me at kblessing1@bloomberg.net

Kelly, the publishers send the books directly to the online students. But, we received an email indicating that the publishers would not be sending books until the first day of classes. Apparently, ECPO had some type of enrollment freeze. So, there could be several reasons why books weren't sent out in a timely manner. Obviously, an inability to pay vendors is first that comes to mind (though I could never prove that.) with an already very low retention rate, it's going to be difficult at best to keep students motivated this term. But, again, I am only guessing. I was an adjunct and from what I have read on this board, am not considered inactive. (They did not need many adjuncts this term but never communicated that to us.) At any rate, maybe Pearson can answer why they refused to send books and why students still don't have them. You won't get any answers from CCI. Most management (for online anyway) have gone MIA. Communication is minimal at best. That generally precludes something happening, in my experience.

Hi there, I'm a reporter. Anonymous22027 - do the students usually get their books from a CCI-run bookstore? Or are the books mailed to them?

For one class 4 students out of 17 got books. Next 2 classes only 2 students got their books. And in my night class only 2 students got their books out of 19 students. A lot of the students were very upset and want to know why the procedure was changed. But of course us instructors have no clue. PDs pretty much just said things like suck it up... and quit complaining like students when we would ask about the decision.
