Has anyone looked into unionizing? That would give power to those who are professionals rather than management types with no educational experience. This would change the game.

I have worked for public colleges that have unions and the situation was nothing like what we see at CCi. There were regular raises, communication between employees and management, as well as a better working environment. I agree with the poster who made the walmart comparison. Corporations are beholden to their shareholders and board members. The Union gives employees a stake in the business and can be a "game changer." Those shooting down the idea here are scared corporate types, not educators.
1950 called. They want their idea back.

All unions do is move the power from the company to lawyers and heads of the union. There's no power to anyone else, despite how peoe kid themselves there is. And then there's expensive dues you have to play. Brilliant plan. To pay out of pocket for someone else to make money off you and make decisions for you!
A great idea, but look at walmart. A corporation would rather go out of business than give employees the chance to get ahead through a union. Drop the idealism and suck it up.
You're so pretty.
I don't think the person who proposed this is an actual employee. Just a bored troll.
Let's organize and start the rebellion. We stuck it to the students, Jack and the ED are now sticking it to us. Let's stick it back at 'em!
It's obvious by some of the posts, that CCI either hired very inexperienced staff, or that is all that's left. Unionization is a long complex process, most of which never end happening once those involved realize all the implications. Also, that would not be more attractive to a potential buyer, if anything it would be a major negative and almost guarantee any purchase would not include union staff. Inexperienced ideals are faaaaaaaar from reality. I do hope the best for those in limbo.
Anonymous22225 - with all due respects, you are an IDIOT
So naive, so sad
You really think you can get a collective bargaining agreement in that McCollege? It will never happen.
You know what changes this game? A big sold sign out front, idiot.
Unionizing what? CCI is tanking.
Anonymous22229- When new buyers take over? That's likely never.
to 2228: if the CCi colleges are still up and running, unionizing now would add some strength when new buyers take over. It would give faculty and staff a voice that is not present in the corporate structure.
No reason to unionize now. It's already game over. Unionization should have taken place a few years ago.
I would love to see us unionize. How does something like this get started?
