Shout Out to Senior Management

Some of us at CCI are dedicated to the company. We would like to continue providing our services in academics. What is the latest news? Are we secure until October and should plan to make other employment arrangements? Or, will CCI run the Fall session following the Summer term, as expected?

Sincerely,

An educator who really cares about students

It would be nice to know about our status. I sometimes feel like a fool for getting an advanced degree and then bowing to some corporate clown with an online degree. Would it kill them just to let us know our status? Will classes be cancelled? Am I fired since I have no classes that have enough students?

I, too, want to educate my students and prepare them for a great career, but there is no reason to believe senior management will tell us the truth about anything without being required to do so. I've been with the company over 5 years and believed them when they told us the company was in compliance. It seems to have been a series of lies.

First of all OP, management may be monitoring this site (probably not) but they won't post. But you won't get an answer either way. I was an adjunct with ECPO and liked my job. I had good reviews from students and management. I even had several students tell me they requested me and were told I would be their instructor this term. Then, they slashed adjunct jobs, boosted class size to 30+ and gave full timers 5-6 classes. So, many adjuncts were put on inactive status. (I had several classes in my queue that never filled with a single student.) I have yet to be told I am out of a job and inactive. I found out about inactive status from this board. So, even if they still have a term or two left in their life, it's still possible you, too, will be put to pasture without a word. I wouldn't believe management. It's clear telling the truth and communicating in a decent (forget professional) manner. Do what you want with this information, but those adjuncts and myself get the jump on the open jobs. In fact, I will find out next week about one that already closed. There are 12,000 employees who either will or will not have a job in the coming weeks and months. I for one am glad that I have a head start, so I am not competing with 12,000 people for the same jobs.
