I've heard people say that they think the fall and others thing not for a year. It's such a sticky situation, I'd really like to have an idea, you know?

Agreed. The limbo is almost paralyzing. CS will slash budgets and staff.

Luckily I've been preparing for this for a while. The limbo is excruciating though. It's like being in purgatory.

I don’t see how additional layoffs can be avoided. It’s a good bet that each quarter there will work force reductions. Considering the September 15 deadline coming up here in a few weeks you would have to have your head in the sand to think it couldn’t happen to you. The question is how many will be sacrificed. Get your ducks in a row now…update your resumes, build up your network, and work your network. If you belong to professional organization check their job boards daily. Set money aside to cover your housing and transportation cost for six months. You could be out of work for more than six months. A number of people let go in 2011 were out of work for more than a year with some having to hang on for over eighteen months. The older you are the longer it will take to get another job…just a fact of life. Clean up your debt pay down, or better yet payoff your credit cards. Now while you have a job would be a good time to see how little you need to get by on.

Yes, no doubt. The question is how CS will restructure.

Stock down to $1.41 today! Wall Street don't lie, that's a -.65 cents per share drop since the end of May. I would say yes to school closings and layoffs. We will know the real damage on Auguest 6. That's when the 4th qtr numbers should be made public, followed by the 15th of September waiver drop dead date.
