Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

Where's our li'l redneck "biter person" Soclette?

Are you still checking in here (I know you are)? A little birdie told me you have lots of time for hanging out on internet boards lately. Been a little slow, has it? Fielding so many job reference calls has been kind of a pain, but I LOVE getting my daily Socle updates! Keep your chin up, sunshine - everything is golden and unicorns!

Anonymous23473- There are plenty of Socle posts in the history, going back to December/January. I really don't find Socle that interesting, but it might be a bigger issue than my current interest. The bottom line is that Socle is not some silver bullet to all the problems. Sure contacting students to let them know about all the terms of the federal student loans is prudent business, but why is that so special? What makes Socle's ability to process student loans any better than other large schools? Also while Socle might be able to sell itself today, it can only do so to schools that already have problems. Maybe if I were a Socle employee I'd view all this differently, but CCi still makes its money from its students, not financial aid processing. Furthermore, Socle will fall with CCi. I highly doubt that Socle is going to save the rest of CCi.

If you want to talk to Bloomberg Reporters, I suggest Laura Litvan in Washington at llitvan@bloomberg.net; Kelly Blessing in Boston at kblessing1@bloomberg.net

I honestly think that's why there are all the old posts. Someone desperate to stop people who happen onto this board from reading about Socle. I'll report some of the discussions.

That's why we need to contact reporters working on CCi stories. CCi is desperate to keep people thinking that Socle is unrelated. Clients are already being informed, but their are other schools out there that they are targeting. I'll come up with something and start looking for some reporters' contact info. I think they'd be interested.

If you post something about Socle on this site it shows up in the Google search engine. Check back again a day or two later and this site will not show up at all. You see Socle has someone monitoring this to make sure they get removed from any search related to Corinthian Colleges. As much as Socle and CCI are mentioned in blogs and on this site synonomously you mean to tell me when you Google Socle there is no mention of CCI.

Doesn't SOCLE just help schools take as much financial aid for (or is it from) each if their students, just like they do at CCI? They're taking their biggest commodity - using every financial aid rule and dollar to their advantage - and helping other schools do the same.

Socle was also required to sign the SEC document guaranteeing CCi's debts. The company can't pay it's current debts and is accruing more. When Jack and his cronies are finally finished finding ways to move bits of money into their pockets, they will declare bankruptcy. Socle will be dissolved along with the rest of the business. Their clients will be left holding the bag.

Socle is incorporated as a wholly owned and operated subsidiary of CCi. It started with Student Financial Services in 2009 or 2010, which was a CCi department in Tampa that took over behind-the-scenes financial aid processing from Global Financial. They changed their name in 2013 to distance themselves from CCi to facilitate hoodwinking…er, obtaining outside clients for their services. They are in the same address/location and have the same leadership/management team as they had before. They share many staff (such as HR and IT). Socle = Corinthian Colleges.

Is Socle Education related to Corinthian Colleges? Socle Ed seems to be incorporated as a subsidiary of CCI. I could use some more information on this if anyone would care to fill me in. Thanks in advance.
