WyoTech Fremont Automotive is a UNION shop We belong to the AFL CIO Local and will post what they say about this when we are told about pay cuts and unpaid time off as well as 401K no matching . Those without a contract you will have to do what is right for you. Keep in mind that if you take a 10% pay cut and reduction in hours when they do lay you off you have been paid less and worked less hours so will earn less Unemployment as well You can leave now if they cut your wages as Unemployment sees reduction in wages as reasonable for quitting. If you take less money and then get laid off it will show that you made less and that is what your unemployment is based upon
Wage and hour violation? 10% under under $40k and you think there might be a wage and hour violation? Too funny. Also the hourly people will be paid for every minute worked.
I was told that hourlies will be asked to volunteer to shave 2.5 hours from their work schedules for the next 10 weeks.
Nope...no laws broken. Jack can't go to the bathroom without the monitor. CCI is not a union shop, so please stop thinking like it is.
Wage and hour violation?
So it sounds like this is going to affect Administration, Enrollment, Full Time Faculty but not adjuncts (as they do not work 40 hours and are not salaried)?
Yes. Salary employees making over 40K have mandatory pay cuts for 10 weeks. Hourly employees have voluntary time off unpaid during that time too. An official communication will go out tomorrow at noon. There is an embargo on the info until then so that's why no one has released any of the info yet.
I think the information was at a high level meeting. Look
For a midnight email. That's how they usually deliver bad news.
According to earlier posts, it's true.
