Why are they telling students in CA? If it's the ECP campus, what students in CA need to be told? Sounds fishy. Seems weird a company would announce a 'potential' sale. Usually they announce a deal.

24147- All I'm saying is people are quick to judge something as a "hoax" or a "troll" before waiting for the facts. ECP and ECPO are run differently, but they are both CCI, and some students in ECPO come from CA. The original poster probably just didn't clarify that the email was from ECP Online. In any case, the original email wasn't about a sale, it was about students being informed of a sale, likely because of the CA AG's lawsuit, and CA forcing CCI to disclose its financial situation to students.

Allowed my opinion. I was one if those laid off without warning. It CAN happen. Even if CCI lasts another 6 months, that doesn't mean 100% of it's employees will still be here. I would earn people not to quit (severance, unemployment),but be realistic. You can be me tomorrow. So be prepared.
24116, the OP said ECP, not ECPO. They are run separately. I know ECPO has students all over the country. But ECPO was not indicated.
24084, think before you speak. ECPO has students in CA. Students can take classes online. Secondly, I received this email this morning, and it's not an email announcing a potential sale to employees. It's an email letting us know that only CA students (because CCI is now required to disclose their financial situation) will be sent an email regarding CCI's sale. We were directed to not discuss the email with students, but to direct them to higher-ups.
Anonymous24091: Thank you for clarifying that. There are a lot of people posting here who seem to want to mislead people. Some sound very overly optimistic and others overly pessimistic. My guess is that there are people who are trying to convince people that their jobs will be suddenly disappearing, either to harm the company or maybe from the perspective that if many people leave their jobs will be safer. I also believe that management is posting misinformation to try to keep employees calm and working hard. It's the same approach they are taking on our campuses. This will play out over the next few months and CCi will likely be no more. We don't know what will happen, though, and all need to take a deep breath. Everyone should be actively seeking employment at a more viable company. In the meantime, go to work and keep collecting a paycheck. That will help you get unemployment if something does happen suddenly. And checking this board is unlikely to offer any insights or heads ups.
A publicly traded company would never announce a "potential sale". The closest you would get would be a non-specific announcement that negotiations are underway. We already know that this badly abused used car is for sale, so there is nothing new here. The next likely annoucement - if it happens and both parties agree to announce - would be an agreement in principal.
It must be a hoax. An employee would know that there are no ECP students in CA.
I work for ECPO and I did not get this supposed email about a potential sale. But, I don't know if ECP and ECPO are being sold together or separately.
