Just got the email. FT faculty are in fact being "asked" to take voluntary one week of unpaid time off between August 3 and Oct 11. The email did not specify how much pay cuts would be; I think the email was tailored to me bc I'm FT faculty.

Any emails about the voluntary unpaid time off for hourly employees? Are they taking away our vacation time?

RE: Temporary Pay Reduction

We have some difficult news to share with you today. Given continued declines in our company’s revenues and federal funding constraints we will be making reductions in employee compensation. Employees will be affected by this decision based upon position (faculty or non-faculty) as well as type of pay (salary or hourly). We regret any hardship these reductions may create for you or your family.

Here is how the reduction in compensation will work for you:

If you are receiving this memo, your pay will be reduced by 10% for 10 weeks, beginning August 3 and ending October 11, and will impact the following paychecks: August 22, September 5, September 19, October 3, and October 17. This reduction will affect all salaried employees who make more than $40,000 per year.

This temporary pay cut will help us manage through the next several months as we transition most of our campuses to new owners and teach out others. The sales process for the schools is going well, and we expect to have more information to share with you in a few weeks. As the company makes this transition, your understanding and cooperation are greatly appreciated – as is your ongoing commitment to our mission of changing students’ lives. Thank you.

If you have any questions about the above, please ask your department head or HR leader.
