Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

Is this CCI's way to get people to quit by reducing pay and having 3 day voluntary unpaid leave? Are they nuts?

You people are nuts. Several years ago HP layed off thousands and cut pay 30% for many more as they restructured for success. This is common practice in business WHEN it's materially necessary. Stop whining, start working, and signup students or like any business, why do they need you. What value have you produced lately?

3 days? I'm supposed to take a week of unpaid leave.

I doubt it. They want to cut costs, obviously. But at the same time, if they are trying to sell, they want full offices. Plus, if people leave, they won't replace them. Some people are fined but losing émigrés in key areas (instructors with 3 full classes and IT people) will impact how the business runs.

I am wondering the same thing. This ridiculousness is a ploy to get folks to resign, rendering them ineligible for unemployment and no longer a liability on the old balance sheet. If so, what is next for those weathering this sh*t storm?
