SS talks a bigger plan than he can deliver. He surrounds himself with people who tell him what a great job he's doing. And what better way to build an admiring following than handing out promotions. By the time someone figures out what is going on he'll be on to his next company. And we'll have to pick up the pieces and make it work.

I feel sorry for those promoted. Obviously pawns in the outsourcing plan.

Hey, it is a good sign that they are promoting people in IT, I thought they were outsourcing everything so maybe they changed their minds.

ML and SS obviously believe and support the value of CNS....and that is all that really matters.

Let me take stab at this, CNS argued it was all the other divisions that were inept and that they were the ones who knew how to manage and the value of the company was in the infrastructure to the campuses. Business 101 the value of a company is measured by customer satisfaction both internal and external. Just a question, how would CNS rate in this area and in collaboration with other departments, which is another vital measurement for successful companies. Technology is moving more towards cloud base solutions so T1 lines to campuses may be overvalued in the equation as well as expensive data centers.

A little bit of over promotion here,a little bit over promotion there....

CNS exists because the division needed service levels that CNS did not care to deliver. So the division created their own functions. They have no cost savings mentality, no customer service to internal or external customers and way to much hocus pic is with their hands. Too bad Sanjev does not see thru it.

Quote: "IT is driving the transformation of Follett." What transformation?? Outsourcing all the work? Sending our work to India and Russia?

The new leadership across the company talks a good game, but does very little to back it up. Look at the many things said by DG and ML over the past 1.5 years, and very little has actually been implemented. They are talking points only.

Its all about rewarding talent in the organization. IT is driving the transformation of Follett. Congrats-well deserved.

What I found interesting was the emphasis on quality in the email about the promotions. If you really care about quality, then you need to start with reasonable scope and a change control process. That s not happening so any mention of quality is just talk for the masses.

You are wrong in your assumptions. I did work at Follett and I am no longer with the company, I was what I consider a casualty. I do have another place of employment where I am much happier at, although I did go through what has been mentioned in previous posts about the mishandling of people shall I put it for lack of better terminology.

Sounds like someone does not like IT being called out for over promotion and poor performance. When layoffs are on the way, that is sad to see promotions when projects are late, service levels lackluster and budget not being met.

You are probably the same 'person' that asked for names of who was laid off. The writing style is similar so I'm just making a guess. When asked for their name they wouldn't give it. Initials meant nothing so prob names won't either so why ask, let's keep it respectful. Opinions and concerns welcome, respect appreciated, hate nah. If you insist on requesting a name at least man up and post your own, otherwise it's comes off as cowardly. Just an observation, I am not from management or a person of interest. I just don't like tacky.
