Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

Response to the note from CFO Bob

And I Quote - "We are trimming other expenses as well. For example, we recently negotiated additional cost savings with our textbook publishers, laptop vendors, campus bookstores, vending machine operators, and SECURITY PROVIDERS."_Security Providers???__Just simply too expensive and don't give a crap about the welfare of your employees and students anymore eh? Haven't you seen the news lately man? Now, with the stress and dysfunction of your organization, is NOT the time to cut costs on Security.

I remember the days when we’d get to order takeout at ten bucks a head for full start days and be asked to take a working lunch and earn a little OT. Wow, remember OT? Anyway, usually for birthdays the director might bring in a cake or something… Now it’s always POTLUCKS! Even though they are employee funded, pretty soon we’ll be asked to make sure food is packaged, non perishable, and does not require refrigeration or heating of any kind.

Excellent way to knock what's left of moral down even more! Good move! Does that mean all the food services ordered for you little meanings will be cut too? You guys will have to start brown bagging it!

But you do know who still gets top rate security? Bob. Jack. Board of directors. Everyone on the 4th floor. Nothing changes for them. They are safe. But you are right. It's a very difficult time for this company and judging from the responses on this board, people are really angry. How angry? I hope nobody gets violent. I really do. But employees and instructors have a right to be safe in their colleges.

Maybe you are not an employee? Publishers refused to send textbooks without $. No students, no cash. This is the worst news, yet real employees don't understand the seriousness of that tiny little section. Students are the a ONLY sorce of income, yet are treated with the least respect.
