So, how many are actually going to take the voluntary unpaid time off?

25122, I agree. I think that they have officially missed the Mark for selling schools. The only assets they have (students, toner, students) are dwindling fast. I'm not sure at this point what they have to sell. It's a sinking ship. No successful for profit group will want CCI schools in their existing condition. And it'll get worse. No turnaround or group of investors who want to make it work would even get financing for it at this point. There's a reason they are using 10 weeks. It's the end of Everest's summer term. I think it will be teach out after that. But if managers and employees find other jobs or they have layoffs, whatever time is left will be chaos at best, especially if IT is affected.

Yes, that's true. It's about 5 months; however, if they can't make payroll much longer, which sounds like is the case from the cost-cutting measures, the sale deadline is irrelevant. I'm sure a wave of layoffs is coming next and a skeleton crew will be kept to remain operational (if possible) for Fall Term.

I'd rather get paid today, rather than take the chance that CCi will be here several weeks from now. Besides, I have no idea if not volunteering will result in my leaving any sooner. Who knows, I could volunteer, and then get laid off anyway. Who the hell knows what's going on anymore?

Those who can't afford to should learn to save some money or enroll as a cci student so you can get a stipend check...bahaha.

I will gladly take a week off from this outreach and dealing with idiot students. Those of you that want to take some sort of stand...you will be the first they will let go for permanent time off as we move on this sinking ship. I may get a few extra weeks by taking one week off in the short term.

Me too. I will let a full-time faculty member do double duty while I take the week off from talisma and skype. Sadly cci is saving by not paying me for a week but loading the full timers so classes run as usual. The ones losing in this deal are the fulltime faculty.

I am! One less week of outreach is worth it.

The level of fear is just amazing. No one knows what to do--and too many are afraid.

Who knows? Maybe someone who knows something will speak up. My gut is that even if we were to get let go sooner because of it, it won't be much of a time difference. CCI is still up against the 6-month deadline given by DOE to sell and we can't even remain operational until then since no credit line and no more investor funding and enrollment tanking.

I wondered the same thing that if I didn't volunteer to take the time off without pay, would it hurt me and put me on the firing squad, or not??

I can't afford to. I don't mean that I can't afford to lose money going into my savings; I mean it's a choice between paying the bills or not. I hope that it is not held against me. Administration says that it won't but someone else had posted that it is being tracked and whomever does not volunteer for the week off, is first with the layoffs. I realize there's a lot of misinformation and speculation (as well as delightful "troll" posts), but I was already wondering if it's a strike against those who don't.
