Post-Mortem to Workers: Look for a Legitimate Source of Revenue

Forget looking for work elsewhere in for-profit colleges. Anthem is in the process of downsizing. EDMC (including Art Institutes) may be the next to go. Then possibly ITT Tech and Career Education (including Cordon Bleu).

University of Phoenix is downsizing. If more rules are put into place, others could go, including Lincoln Tech. Grand Canyon is doing ok, because they figured out a market that is extremely gullible (prosperity theology) but has more resources to exploit. Unfortunately, workers and students are the ones who get hurt. That's the way the system works, if you didn't figure it out. Only by resisting this exploitation can anything change........If you are a person with principles, look for more legitimate sources of revenue. Feeding your family by stealing other people's futures is not ok. Corinthian executives milked the system as long as they could and workers were complicit in this criminal behavior. Executives are lucky they have not ended up doing the perp walk.

Camden, did you get a grant pulled from your graduate studies? You are a worthless piece of shit and I hope you get whats coming to you as well. You have done nothing but stir the pot and create more problems then solutions. Instead of wasting your time here within an industry you DO NOT WORK in go find something more lucrative to do.

Beware of North West College no benefits offered only to executive team you will work 38 hours and be considered a part tine employee.. Wages are extremely low no pay raises and you will never accumulate sick or vacation time. BEWARE they are taking advantage of this situation.....they are run by former UEI employees who ran that school to the ground....

Obviously you don't know CCI. They don't teach grammar, spelling or anything else, even though most students don't have a basic grasp of it. Why do you think we are tanking?'vm

Who cares what you think about any school. Bottom line: CCI is going down in females. I don't think employees should now be putting down other schools, fools.

Anonymous25316, Grand Canyon is no better than a University of Phoenix with a Christian patina.

Regarding Grand Canyon - their student demographic is substantially different than CCI. They are not a "career college". They have a traditional ground campus with abput 10K students (and Division I b-ball). They hold regional accreditation. A signiicant percentage of their grad school is comprised of educators seeking masters and PhD degees. Yes, the admissions team drives hard for numbers, but there is a significantly different level of legitimacy in their program and outcomes. I would encourage qualified (Masters and above)adjunct faculty to take a look. If you are at ECP or ECPO, you pobably already know about GCU.

25305 you might want to enable auto spell check on your mobile device. Hope you aren't teaching anything that requires you to grade spelling, grammar, and style.

So, CCI are crooks so the entire for profit system is? It's true most are downsizing, but it's on response to a growing economy, not the thievery of CCI. Plus, there are plenty of instructor positions elsewhere, if you don't mind working Pat adjunct. (There's nothing out there for FT faculty, really.) But, if you aren't faculty and if the economy is getting better in your area, then find seething in another field. Don't panics everyone. This isn't the first company with 12,000 employees to collapse. And it won't be the last. But, I will say this. Don't just rely in Indeed and Highetedjobs for your next job. You have to knock down some proverbial doors and make your own luck. And believe it or not, I've found three good paying, legit jobs on Craigslist. In the job section.

Workers were complicit in this criminal behavior? Really? This generalization is insulting to those of us who effected even small changes in the behavior of students.

While I agree that many instructors and other functional groups played the game, I think your post suggests that you are a frustrated whistleblower. Why didn't you go to regulators 6 months ago if you saw your helpless colleagues and students being "exploited"? If you have so much information, why not give it to someone who can use it NOW?
