Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

AG Kamila Harris

Just got off the phone with Harris' office. If you have legitimate issues as to CCi activities that have been threating in nature or caused you any kind of mental or physical harm. If you have been written up for any reason that is without legitmate merit and you can document it. Have been threatened in any way regarding your position at CCi. If you have documentation related to ANY activities that could be used in a criminal investigation by the state or SEC. It is important that you contact the AG and SEC immediately.

Because CCi is likely to file Bankruptcy. There is no way to sue and get your vacation time or any other benefits you are entitled to. Consult with those authoities regarding these. Anything related to improper discipline, moneys owed to you that may have been taken from you considered wages may be considered acts of fraud by the executive officers of CCi. Documentation and your statements could help in securing criminal indictments. Your Choices! Either lay down and take it or speed up the inevitable.

25771 - If there is a collectively enough complaints filed against CCi, the CAAG will absolutely take up the charge and investigate. Especially since they are going after them already.

You need to realize that what ever the CAAG can get at this point is another nail in CCi's coffin, and they want people to step forward in this case. They would love to file addendums to their current case AND lock up the execs. CAN has it right. Like it or not.

Looks to me like some of the execs are posting in here their replies and trying to discourage people from exercising their rights. Not surprised that a CCi employee would do their part to ensure that happens.

Anonymous25584: I am in California and the AG does not pursue individual cases. From the AG website

Attorney General's Role

In sending this consumer complaint, I understand that the Attorney General cannot answer legal questions or give legal advice to me and cannot act as my personal lawyer.

I also understand that the Attorney General may need to refer my complaint to a more appropriate agency.

Go ahead and call and fill out the form if it makes you fill better.

Yeah, unfortunately if you live in FLA you are royally screwed. Your employer can do virtually anything and, trust me, ain't NOTHIN' gonna be done about it! Lack of employee rights is one of our state government's longest and proudest traditions! If you're in California, feel lucky.

25547 - not sure where you live but OP was referring to California. It has much stricter and more enforced labor laws than a backward redneck type state (let's say Florida). Employees and ex-employees with concerns who are Cali residents should absolutely call the AG's office.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!! The AG and SEC has no jurisdiction in this matter. The AG can only bring action against CCI as a state entity and the SEC only does security related crimes. You didn't talk to anyone at the AG office because they would have told you that it is a civil matter and to consult an attorney.

Realize this. If CCi files bankruptcy. All the vacay pay is gone. You get get nothing. That 10% pay cut gets bigger. Those looking at the schools while pick them up for pennies.

Reporting any is never too late. If it means in the end of the process, justice prevails. To suggest that people are wasting their times is inconsiderate and not entirely transparent. While a walk off or sick out is a message. It does not protect the employee’s from anything. And it doesn't serve the best interests of the students.

The wheels of justice may be slow. But the wheels do evetually turn full circle.

I think vacay pay is lowest on their list of worries. I think CA has been going after CCI for awhile. I get people are upset, but realize that the wheels of Justice are very, very slow. There will be no quick solution if they decide not to pay vacation and sick pay. And they may not be doing anything illegal. What you are posting sounds like reporting illegal activity including harassment, etc. that separate from pay issues. Either way, it's probably way too late for any of it.
