Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

Why is everyone acting weird today?!?

Stayed home sick yesterday, and when I got in today everyone seems to be acting really weird so far. I don't see any emails with more bad news. Is it my imagination or is something up? Rumors of layoffs maybe? People around here have been pretty chill about the "troubles" until now.

Nobody has heard anything. The strategy seems to be to keep us in the dark, and string us along with vague rumors that we will be sold and keep our jobs (or that this whole thing will go away and CCi will simply rebrand).

I'm ECPO. Except for the drug free zone crap, I haven't heard from a single manager since before Owen's last email. Was that Friday? Eerie!!

It's not just you. Things really have been tense today. Does anyone know what's up? Are they maybe planning on trimming the bloated managerial ranks? Huh, I think we have a manager of some sort for every two employees who actually work! If we're cost cutting, that would be a good place to start!

25649: I don't know how to tell you this, but CCi doesn't play fair. They like their witch hunts and neither logic not ethics will stand in the way of them throwing their weight around. If they think you MIGHT have been part of a call out day, you may not have much time left.

I've asked around and a few people did call in sick here yesterday, but all of them sound legit. I would hope that someone wouldn't be viewed suspiciously because they happen to take one of their average of three sick days a year.

Hey, that's not fair! I was legitimately sick, not part of some call-in campaign. Why, did a lot of people call in sick yesterday?!?

They knew about the call in sick campaign and are NOT happy about those who called in. What did you expect, exactly. If they and your fellow colleagues are ignoring you, it's not good. You might be topping the layoff list.

The Titanic is sinking and we will all eventually lose our jobs, including them. Enough reason?

Higher ups were really pissed off about something yesterday. It spooked us. I have no idea what their problem was, but maybe it'll be better today. You were lucky to call in sick.
