Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

That post wasn't from DiP. She's never met a student. Not sure why someone thought it was.

Well, her post is one of the more well written posts I've seen here on this board. Good grammar, punctuation, spelling, and clear thoughts. That's got to count for something.

It's not Cat's fault - she's an EUO grad. That or UofP, I can't remember. Anyway, not the brightest bulb on the XMas tree, but she figures she has a degree so she must be management material. Right?

26582 - she's both, but what really aggravates people about her is her absolute incompetence. Most of our students are brighter than she is. Her standard expression is a dumb, confused stare. Then she'll bark something out arbitrarily and skulk off. Totally, totally useless.

Why do people hate CDiP so much? You can see people just tense up when her name is mentioned around here. Is she incompetent, a total bitch, or some combo of both?

CDP has a new job? Wow, wonder what she'll do in an environment where she'll be expected to actually show up and work? She might even be required to have...gasp...knowledge of her job! I'd have loved to be a fly on the wall at the interview.

Okay, I'll bite. I don't know who you are, but I'll be at Hard Rock at 6pm looking for familiar faces! TGIF!!!

CD is going?!? Hooray! I may not have much more time at CCi (hubby makes good money, I'm not really worried about it), but the time left will now be MUCH more pleasant! She's stomp, stomp, stomping her way outta here!

Best of luck to you, too! I was an online adjunct and had good retention. I had many thank you sat the end of each term. Last term I had at least five students tell me they requested me for this term ( and were told they had me.) I was given 2 classes, neither of which filled. And now I am without a job. It turned out to be a great thing, because in addition to 2 offers, another opportunity arose that will be invaluable to my career. I started applying the day after the announcement, so it's been about 6 weeks. But I am grateful because I needed online experience. And I have worked at many other colleges and universities and the level of support from my ADs was unbelievable. They never pressured me to change grades or make immoral choices. They answered my questions quickly. And they were quick to help a student in a difficult situation. I did not have a lot of issues I read about. Nonetheless, I saw the writing on the wall.
