Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

A message to all Admissions staff and Directors.

The true tragedy is the students who are about to graduate, they now have to start all over. This sucks! The students in the Inland Empire was taken advantage of. They were mainly poor and uneducated. Now the staff from the college will feel their pain of being broke.

To all the overpaid admissions staff and upper management this will be a big slap to your face. What will you do know when you find out that you are only worth $10 per hour because you have no education, and those who do have a degree we stupid enough to get it from Everest College or some other for-profit school. Those days of making $20-$40 per hour are gone. Especially the stupid admissions staff and directors who walked around campus like their Sh!t doesn't stink. Now you can rely on your unemployment for 6 months and then get your $10-$12 per hour job, you will now be indirect competition with the students who you took advantage of.

And for those idiots who are still working today, please have some dignity and stop faking it with the students. Let them know their options so they can enroll into a real school.

12969...I had several classes in college with 200 people. The professors strutted around like rock stars with their headsets...I was a number. After 50 minutes was up it was back to the dorm to study. My dad died while I was in my soph year. It took 2 weeks for anyone to notice I wasn't there.

The point about "value" is misguided. The students are borrowing the money, so it isn't real to them, and most of CCi's students default anyway. Of course the classes are dumbed down. Anyone who has ever taught even one class at Everest or Heald or Wyotech knows that. These classes are not even remotely comparable to classes taught at legit schools. It's all pretend. Get it?

"On your own" would be no school. To suggest going to a top rated school you are "on your own" is CRAZY!

If you are in a class of 10 for 4 hours...don't you think you get more one on one? Traditional college we spend 50 minutes of lecture and go home and work it out alone. Everest we spend 50 minutes of lecture, discuss for 50 minutes, apply it for 50 minutes, take a test over it all in the same day. Think of Everest like the "Biggest Loser" vs. Weight Watchers. Your fat @ss has tried losing weight on your own. Didn't work. That weekly check in is not enough for everyone but better results with more concentrated effort. Just like "Biggest Loser" still doesn't work for everyone. IJS.

If this is a last resort why is the tuition of an associate degree cost more than most major university's cost per year? How can they pass a program at Everest and not at a regular school when we teach the same subjects? Its probably because teacher were not allowed to fail students. They also had to dumb down their teaching to get the students to understand. So the question is where they getting a quality education? Was that dumb downed education worth more than a education from a real college?

Minimize the failures: based on what's being written here, the "school of last resort" should have been the school before CCi.

The reason most of CCi's students are here is because they either failed in "real" schools or were not accepted to begin with. This is a school of last resort.
