Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

anyone that has worked for this company for more than three years saw this coming. The management team has gone downhill for quite a few years

everything the news has been saying is 100 percent true. I know for a fact they forged placements, attendance, and I was approached many times from different management to allow students to turn in work after grades have been closed. Basically, they did not want to take the drop. Sadly this not only affects students but also the wonderful faculty that give their heart and soul every single day. Some instructors get reprimanded for doing things to keep students engaged, thinking outside of the box. all of the program chairs getting burned out and ran into the ground. One program chair would be there from 8 a.m. till 11pm and no matter how hard she tried or what she did it was never good enough. The Old Campus president we had at the time wood bully her, nothing was ever good enough. She was a excellent program chair, she stood up for both her instructors and students. when she approached human resources she was basically brush to the side and it was never fully adressed. this amazing program chair busted her ass every single day. And then they had the nerve to call her and fire her on her day off. All I can say, and I know every employee would agree. What goes around comes around, and karma is a bitch.

Real problem is Marketing/Admissions. Start budgets have been developed based on potential student demand for programs NOT how many students a campus can place into jobs.

the ironic part of all of this is that on every single computer the background States the eight pillars on which our company stands on. which include integrity, customer responsiveness, respect individuals, innovation, excellent, accountability, teamwork, and positive energy......hummmmm clearly that same backdrop was not put on anyones computer that was upper management or Campus presidents.....

Everythng this person said is true! not only that, many many times we did not have the necessary supplies to teach the students the skills they needed to know to go out and be successful in the work environment. We went several weeks without supplies. with that being said it was not fair to the students who pay so much money for this program not to have the necessary supplies!,,

Seen a huge decline in employee satisfaction in the past year. And I've been an employee for over a decade! Only stay due to my passion for teaching

Yes! Asked on multiple occasions by upper management to help the student pass so their numbers won't be affected by a dropped student. Admissions department signs anyone that walks through the front doors. Then the faculty has to deal with a student who can't even read. Then get reprimended if the student fails. Ridiculous. Upper Management has no respect for their employees. It's all about numbers and $$. They wonder why everyone is out on stress leave!
