Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

CCI probably files for BK in a matter of days.

CCI will probably file BK in a matter of days. The only way to orderly get out of business as an educational institution is to go BK otherwise you have LOTS of requirements to "shut down" or teach out a school. CCI is looking at some major legal bills to which it doesn't have money to pay. Don't be surprised if LOTS of vendors along with the rents not being paid for the past couple of months. CCI made a LOT of long term lease commitments which one can't just walk away from short of filing for BK.

It's not just payroll. Clearly if payroll isn't met then the employees are walking out the door. It's also the vendors who haven't been paid for in the last couple of months in many cases. The landlords in some cases haven't been paid in a couple of months.

My guess is between June 30 and July 1. But if payroll is met, then it might be a few days later while they continue to scramble for some gap funding. By the way, they will never be able to pay the gap funding back, since the 21 day delay will remain in place for some time to come. So CCi needs that money forever, especially given it's literally living day-by-day.
