I was totally caught off guard by this I had no idea that CCI had been ignoring requests for documentation for 6 months! I personally work very hard to try to help the students that are enrolled in my classes and not prepared for college level work to get their skills and expectations up to where they should be so they can be successful, which is not always an easy thing! I was also not aware that I might not get paid as I am a contract and not an hourly employee, since the financial aide for the students I am already teaching has come in are the faculty going to be paid on Friday as scheduled or am I grading assignments for "free" which is not something I am willing to do?

You can go get an attorney understand if they declare bankruptcy your not getting any money..your f***ed no matter which way you go.
13484 - Exactly right. Not enough information. But to assume payroll will be made because it is near the end of term is stupid. No business can meet payroll without sufficient cash or credit. The feds have raided schools near the end of a term and shut them down. Never assume. Make a plan B.
13479 - You don't know that we won't be paid Friday. You cannot make that assumption as you do not have the information. Frankly you are one of the idiots stirring the pot on this board. I suspect we will be paid this Friday as it is the close of term next week and if instructors are not paid they will not complete the term. Do you think the company wants to shut down? No. For any CCI employee to post grades and close classes other than the instructor would be fraudulent. I doubt CCI will allow such under the scrutiny it is under. Now after this paycheck and term I would consider other options. I am an adjunct and I will be leaving. If paid I will finish the term and post grades. I am not teaching for free. If not, I walk Friday and CCI will be hearing from my attorney as well as the hundreds more standing in line. Think about it before you post arbitrary responses. Geez how poisonous can some of you folks be. Only a court order can seal the doors. Finally be honest with people and that includes your students.
No one will be paid this Friday. Probably won't be paid by CCI ever again.
