Heald, WyoTech closures or sale?

Any guesses about whether Heald and WyoTech will be sold (or which campuses of each)? Who might buy them?

I believe WyoTech will be sold. I've worked for WyoTech for 12 years and there are more automotive technician openings now than ever before. The one major reason the brand name has lost some of it's credibility is the lack of updating equipment and training aids over the past 3 years. That's all because CCi refused to spend money on the schools. Last year when they had the Daytona and Sacramento schools for sale they were approached by another company that would only buy those two if CCi sold them all the WyoTech schools. At that time CCi wouldn't sell the rest and ended up closing Sac. I'm not very familiar with the Heald schools but from what I've seen posted they shouldn't face much problems being sold either.

Heald would be a good acquisition. WASC accreditation, good grad/placement rates, low default rates, excellent teaching, great president with a vision. The best of all worlds would be to be bought by a non-profit and regain that status. The worst would be to be bought by another company that is traded on the stock market.

I hope heald doors stay open...so I can walk out. Buyer beware. The new corporation better set higher admission standards, an updated curriculum, and real student resources with financial support

Heald doesn't have a "buyer in line".

Heald has buyers in line and the first of the initial buying process has already begun(2 days ago Saturday). It's the Everest Colleges and CCI Management that give everyone else a bad name. Ever since Heald was bought by CCI and implimented their "style" campuses have been suffering. I cannot wait for Heald to under new management. Our reputation is a lot more reputable than Everest. It should be renamed Death Valley instead of Everest.

Heald won't be sold. Heald isn't generating a capital return but running at a loss.

TRUE: A good OPEDI & Regional Accreditation is not easy to come by.

Yes--both will be sold. Heald is especially appealing since it would immediately generate a good return on capital. Expect private equity to move quickly in order to dissociate Heald from the Corinthian label. WyoTech would also be attractive. It might even be a pickup for a group like Bridgepoint. I don't enough roi to make it appealing to a private equity group.

That is absolutely not true. OEPID's are VERY hard to come by. Any school that has strong demographics, low regulatory issues, no major lawsuits and is profitable are candidates for a sale. Heald and Everest College Phoenix are absolutely sellable since they have regional accreditation and online offerings.

The schools will all be closed. No one wants to buy them.
