I honestly could not tell you if the managers knew ahead of time or not. I believe all the employees were let go first and managers were the last ones to leave the building at Greentree on Tuesday. They basically did team by team in different conference rooms.

As a manager, I'm wondering if they tell you ahead of time, or drop it on you the same way? I don't think I could respect a manager who knew the whole time and never said anything. People have families and lives they are disrupting by not being honest and forthright.

As a manager I can assure you it is far from painless for us. Personal bonds are built up over time, and cold calling and dropping this on a coworker is the most difficult part of the job.

Disgusting... Painless for HR and managers, nonetheless
