Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

We fine. Just fine. Doing fine. Thanks so much.

The right externship can be a valuable gateway for job-seeking graduates. Ashlee Crowe, a 2012 Heald College graduate from the Roseville campus, used her experience working at Sutter Medical Foundation to take her first step into the world of professional healthcare. By shadowing Sutter employees, she was able to get hands-on experience that culminated in a full-time job.

"I didn't want to feel like a third wheel just standing around. I wanted to be involved. That was extremely important to me," Ashlee said. "Now I'm working in pediatrics. You're dealing one-on-one with patients."

According to the Sacramento Bee, about 60 percent of 2012 college graduates who worked in paid internships received at least one job offer. "Having an internship is critical," said Christina Rivera, director of career services at Heald College in Roseville. "It's like a working interview. This is a job," she said.

Mike Phillips, training and development manager at Sutter Medical Foundation, added, "Internships are a mechanism, not only to provide the vocational training we need for our care centers, but it provides us an opportunity to vet who will be applying for positions."

aha I previously stated on this board or profit colleges can help a small percentage of students not ready or capable I've attended a traditional college I have seen some wonderful smart students graduate I'm become successful yes, usually hired off extern however, the percentage is too small.most will go to extern the second day and be fired 2 or 3 times those are the students that should have never started school in the first place the ones admissions new had no daycare nO ride to school, and having completed all the required docs to be enrolled or better yet didn't show the first day of class but its Admissions called themand beg them to show for the last two hours of the second day of class but yeah I expected them to complete the program without being dropped 3,4 or 5 times and bringing them back in only to graduate what the minimum GPA and be fired on extern. wht you mean I can show up on the second day and only work half of that day on my extern site I thought you would call me and beg me to be here just like they did when I enrolled in school oh well I'll just get dropped the only be in debt and have no diploma. thanks Everest I'm so glad I almost showed my ass less than half the time and receive a low GPA and lots of Appeals which were always always approved.

Again with the sneering, defensive tone. Surely you can't blame anyone for imaging the stock fat comic book guy living in his Mom's basement? How else would you come across to people?

It's so much fun getting people worked up here. You make so many assumptions about affiliations, gender, psychological outlook. Too funny!

Apparently you don't work for CCI, so I'm not sure what would motivate you to be commenting here. We are assuming that the spammers are mgmt./execs since until the last couple of days they regularly spammed the site to counter the almost unanimously negative comments. Also, your tone gives the impression of a very insecure, angry little man. Lighten up!

Again, so funny! Why do you presume the spammers have anything to do with CCi? No wonder the company is the laughing stock of the for-profit education world, which itself is a joke to everyone else.
