With a likely massive layoff coming, be as prepared as you can be. Now is the time to make sure you have email addresses/numbers for your co-workers, so they can be your references and vice versa. Don't put off updating your resume or getting it out there. It's still a tough job market, and the longer you're unemployed the harder it gets. Good luck to all!

You have to connect with your colleagues and then can contact them using LinkedIn or use their email. You want to connect on LinkedIn because people's contact information and because you will be write recommendations to help your friends get jobs at reputable companies.
I thought LinkedIn takes care of the contacts? Am I wrong here?
