Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Dollar budgets instead of hour budgets for scheduling

Guess home office is tired of doling out severance packages and decided to try another tactic to get full-timers to quit.

There are no guaranteed hours once you are hourly. That person will be brought to the lowest hours to keep benefits.

The store I work at has a full time hourly employee that used to be salary. Has to work a full 40 hours to get close to what his salary was.

The budget includes salaried employees as well but the first target will be the hourly , yes. Full time hourly will be brought down to 30 hours which is the least we can give them without demoting them to part time.

This won't effect salaried managers and they make the most. Their target is full time hourly employees!

Wow! How devious is that. So if your full- time they can cut you from 40 hours a week to 30 so you can continue to receive benifits but you lose 10 hours a week!

Yeah, however, those tactics can cost more in the long run as their are employments laws prohibiting that type of behavior.

Besides the dollars, layoffs had a tremendous impact on the remaining employees. Get people to leave on their own is the new motto. Until September rush results are in.
