Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

Do you really think that anyone is going to buy any Corinthian school

given the long list of investigations? The grades, attendance and grad placement isn't all of it. There are Attorney General investigations in several states, Justice Department and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau for it's marketing and recruiting practices. I wouldn't wait and "hope" I would resume, resume and resume. It went to far for to long in some campuses. First how the presidents let this happen then up the ladder for letting this continue to happen. Did you think that you were to powerful not to get caught? It is all disgusting.

It's a crowded field, though. In most CCi locations there are other schools offering similar programs. Enrollments seem to be down across the board, which means these competitors have more capacity for enrollment and can probably mostly absorb CCi's current and future customer base. So I'm not seeing the assets as being very valuable. maybe a few that don't have a lot of local competition, and probably online since it can serve everywhere. The regionally accredited campuses have that going for them, so fixing them might be worth the time and expense.

Pepole buy fixer uppers all the time. If your handy with a screwdriver, hammer and politician Corinthian Colleges is a great investment. By low, change the processes and resources, get the wheels spinning again in a forward direction and you have a profitable business. Happens all the time. I beleive the country needs the non-traditional college route for many but it needs to be productive for the student, the shareholders and society (Govt included as they still will be funding via Title IV.

Says a lot. Revolving door of screwing those who can least afford it. The best justice would be seeing execs at Hutton center being led out in handcuffs, just like their mortgage cronies down the street several years ago. Only a matter of time until red tape.

Corinthian bought the Phillips colleges twenty years ago when Phillips was in just about as bad a situation as we are now, and Corinthian was able to turn the situation around and make a profit. You never know.
