Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

Just on the channel 13 news out of Sacramento California.

The VA is stopping all GI BILL money to all CCI schools. This is for all news enrolls. If a vet is currently enrolled, the VA will fund the student through the current enrolled term. Thank you Jack and company on the 4th floor.

Call 1-888-GIBILL1. They will tell you Corinthian is on suspension.

Just called the VA itself, and it's true. Corinthian Colleges is on suspension and GI Bill funds will not be paid to California schools.

Before making any decisions contact the VA itself. CSAAVE can raise a hand to the VA and tell them what they want to do but until the VA releases a statement regarding benefits hold off.

Why is nobody thinking this through? The California VA doesn't control GI Bill money. That would be the Department of Veterans Affairs people. Do some research first. The people up in Sacramento are just trying scare Vets into dropping.

Unfortunately, the VA will NOT reimburse my GI BILL for the last 6 months.( I began the RN program at Everest 6 mos ago.) The good news is, that students who took out federal loans, can go through the process of discharging those loans. Students who paid cash (unlikely) can be refunded. Vets, though? Nah- we're screwed like always.

Sorry for not having link last night when I made my first post. At that time, it was not posted on the site. I see someone else has now posted, but will include the link now. Truth is, ALL CCI funding goes through Santa Anna. That said, I think the VA funding issue is US wide.

"I believe this is for the state of California only."

Seriously? That's supposed to make us feel better? Corinthian is headquartered in California and California has majority of the students - vast majority. If we're not enrolling in California, it's time to turn off the lights.
