Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

Have you noticed...

Posters who work at Heald are finding all the reasons they will remain open/sold - those that work online, same thing - only peeps not saying anything are those that work at the Everest Campus'. What's wrong with Everest College? I know plenty of working, happy grad's from Everest. Employees at the Campus level of the region I work in are hard working, dedicated people that work hard at their positions and for the students. I hope like heck, for myself and the others I work with and know that love their jobs, I hope someone sees the value at the campus and the dedicated employees who's focus is to help the student's succeed - whatever happens behind the closed doors on the 4th floor isn't shared by campus employees. We have no part of it and never, never ever have I been asked to fudge anything, or do anything out of compliance! I wouldn't do it even if it meant my job! MY integrity is mine, not swayed by anyone else.

Anonymous16257 - Thank you for the clarity

Anonymous16259 - We are accredited by ACCSC - ABHES - AHSP

ACICS, which accredits much of Everest (other than ECP) is just pretend accreditation. I volunteered as an evaluator and went on site visits to several of our competitors (ITT Tech campuses mostly) and you wouldn't believe how bogus that entire process is.

Heald and ECP (Everest College Phoenix - ground and online) are both regionally accredited, by WASC and HLC respectively. There is a regional accreditor in each region of the US. This is the same accreditation that traditional private schools and state schools such as Stanford and Berkeley have. The rest of the CCi campuses, including WyoTech are nationally accredited by various bodies. Regional accreditation is orders of magnitude more difficult to obtain than national accreditation. Everest and WyoTech credits are not transferable to a regionally accredited college. Heald and ECP (because of their accreditation and performance) and WyoTech (because of the employer demand for the graduates of their training programs at Blairsville, Laramie, and Daytona Beach) will be relatively easy to sell. Some Everest campuses such as some of the Florida campuses, will also have buyers. Hard to tell about Canada - in a robust economy it should sell. When CCi pared down Canada, they kept the best of the Canadian campuses.

We already know what will happen. CCI will sell off their assets(the schools) to interested buyers. The schools that are sucking will teach out their programs and the students will be able to finish their schooling(thank God).

The black hole that's gaping right now is the void between now and the next payroll date. Will we be paid? Now that I know the students will be fine, I want to know about myself and my family.

Anonymous16243 - "Sounds like you're just trying to save face" - well if that were the case I sure as heck wouldn't post on this site for compassion. I believe I am expressing my opinion and giving the reader a slight insight into who I am and what I stand for. Apparently you disagree. My heart is not broken by your opinion or your remarks. I do, however, feel sorry you because you are so bitter. Whatever happens with Everest/CCi will happen, we will know soon enough.

"MY integrity is mine, not swayed by anyone else."

Then why are you posting this? Sounds like you're just trying to save face. It's too late, your upper management at CCI screwed you over. No need to try and reconcile your image here.

I think people and the DOE see that Everest = CCI.
