Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

6 months at the most and then the WHOLE place is gone...enrollment reps are all but done as of this day.

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-07-04/corinthian-reaches-agreement-to-sell-or-close-campuses-1-.html?cmpid=yhoo

"Corinthian will sell or shut campuses within the next six months, the department said late last night in a statement. Under the operating plan, effective July 8, the agency will release $35 million in student aid for the company to provide classes to existing students if they choose to continue their studies."

It doesn't seem all that rosy for CCI employees...that $35 million isn't going very far.

"17919, your understanding of business is tenuous at best... Or your just being a troll. I hope, for the students' sake, that you are not a Business teacher."

The government just threatened to shut down CCI for its enrollment and compliance practices. The CCI ass clowns groveled to get a desperation last second lifeline from the ED. They got one, $35 million and a complete shutdown NO later than 6 months from now.

So, as a potential buyer of a cci "school", why do I want to have ANYTHING to do with the people who are guilty of these practices(enrollment)? They don't, and they won't. Jack and the boys MAY be able to sell a few campuses, but you are deluded to think they can sell anywhere near all of them.

The $35 million comes with the implied understanding that CCI operations start winding down, the ED is not going to finance CCI for six months so Jack can attempt to screw over the tax payers for that time.

Get over it, CCI is done. BUH BYE

"If they are selling 85 schools, it means marketing, admission reps, etc will need to keep running."

No it doesn't. It means they will be the first to go. Where did u get your business education, EUO? IF a buyer comes up, they have their staff standing by to do things their way.

" it means that they know CCi will use funds to keep most current employees.

No, the $35 million is for the students education, not CCI employees. $35 million isn't going to go too far if you keep salespeople on board now, is it?

"No one is going to buy a school with no students"

No one is going to buy a school AND keep staff of a school that just got gutted for illegal and deceptive practices.

The gig is up, now it is official.

If they are selling 85 schools, it means marketing, admission reps, etc will need to keep running. No one is going to buy a school with no students. Since the sale is part of the agreement with the DoE, it means that they know CCi will use funds to keep most current employees. However, all marketing will stop (per the DoE agreement) for all 12 schools that are closing
