Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

New Summer Term

I was offered some courses that start on the 14th. However, I was told that contracts don't go out until after drop/ add. If the class does not run, does that mean I do not get paid between the two weeks of the course start and drop/ add? Anyone know?

Correct. If you do not see students loaded into the grade book then only post weekly announcements. If there are not students loaded by the Fri before classes start I typically do not have them load.

It is correct that you will not be paid for monitoring the course for the first two weeks if no students are eventually assigned to it. This already happened to me once as an online adjunct. However, you can still fill out a time card and I believe they pay you minimum wage (if all goes well).

I agree...My concern is that with the declining enrollment, I won't get paid for time worked without a contract if the course does not run. I hope we all learn more this week.

Just getting paid with a contract will be tough enough. Beyond that, if you work for 2 weeks, you should get paid.
