Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

Socle Update

For those of you already missing the entertaining Socle threads from yesterday, let me give you an update. Nothing really new, just assurances that Socle is still not a part of anything that is happening with CCi. All of our clients are fully aware that we are a subsidiary of CCi, have no problems with that, and haven't had any questions concerning the recent negative publicity. At the same time, we are to always use "Socle" and never "CCi" as we always have. So it's "Trust us, they know who we are, but don't EVER mention who we are!" What fun!

Anonymous 19697: uh, no. Think about it, you know who I am. Lots of clues on here. I left months ago for a much better job, remember? You didn't reject me, I decided I'd had enough of working with losers, just like a lot did before me. If you weren't scared you wouldn't be on this site constantly. That's the only reason I still check in. You've shown your hand now. Your clients have no idea you are CCi and it is easy for anyone who chooses to do so to inform them, their students, and their communities. I choose to.

Wow, they are really scared of us posting about Socle! Sure, they're fine with their clients and the press knowing that Socle is CCi...yeah, right. In the last few minutes, right after this thread was started, dozens of short new threads have been posted to push it down! they REALLY don't want people reading about Socle!! I'll start a new thread...This is great!

Question of customer or owner, which is not exclusive.

Given that Corinthian is touted as a case study of success on the Socle website I don't think the relationship is that difficult to understand.

19599: Are you the same person who posts as "Socle worker"? So you're saying that if I call Texas A&M, they will tell me that Socle is a subsidiary of Corinthian Colleges? Because I'm actually going to do that.

The worst part of it is how they talk about it, like it's the most deliciously evil scheme anyone has ever thought of. The story told is that the execs knew that they were running the company into the ground and that it would get into trouble. They were going to squeeze every dollar of it, then use a "loophole" to keep operating as a "servicer" under several different names ("Socle" is just for financial aid). So they planned it this way from the start and are going to make out like bandits! Those of us "lucky" to have gotten in are going to be fine, since the "loophole" means that ED can't touch us or our assets. It's BS, but I really think they may believe it. They don't seem worried.

Incorporated as a subsidiary of CCi and had to sign the SEC agreement guaranteeing CCi's debt. When CCi goes down, they do as well, whether they are sold or dissolved. they have a strong interest in maintaining the illusion that they are different companies, though. Their client schools are paying monthly for financial aid services, and it's about the only money CCi is getting in right now. It also may be going straight to the exec's pockets because I don't think ED is overseeing it (they are overseeing how the Title IV money they released is spent). They are saying their customers know they are CCI and don't care, but that's total BS. If a reporter showed up at Texas A&M and asked why CCi was handling their CDR after numerous articles exposing CCi's unethical CDR techniques, A&M would be mortified. There is no way a school like that (or probably any of their clients) know who they really are.
