Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

Our campus president

Our campus president is telling us that if we are not sold that CCi will continue. I really hope she's wrong. It was my understanding that the department of Ed will be re-evaluating the situation at 3 months.

If a campus (or division) does not sell they will most likely do across the board teach-outs. I do not envision a world will society will forget this massive newsworthy situation and enroll with CCi. Now that being said, a rebranding and new marketing will make the meek forget and once again flock to the doors. If this becomes reality, DOE will have a constant presance in CCi's daily affairs. Lord, help us all.

19459: That is untrue. many government agencies will not consider any degrees that aren't from regionally accredited colleges. Beyond that, they have a fairly standard hiring system and most of the folks approving the application through the process went to traditional universities. They do not look kindly on any proprietary degrees. They will most certainly not look kindly on anything from CCi, just like the private employers. Nobody HAS to accept CCi credits or degrees for anything.

Read the 8-k and fund the section that says "the sale must be agreeable to CCI and DoE". If you read the 8-k CCI does not have to sell. Read the 8-k, lots of good info in there.

If you have credits from CCI you can use them as credits for jobs like gov jobs they have to except them and if you pass the required exam then you must then prove yourself in an interview. It is possible.

Forget the hype. Have you been watching the story? Corinthian announced they reached a deal. Here's the thing, after this news - how much do you think that degree will be worth? COCO was just put into the same category as diploma mills. I, as a hiring manager, will not consider anyone with this degree.

A teach out plan must be in place for all schools, but if CCi suddenly found large sums of cash in the mattresses, then all could be fine.

You are right. DOE and CCi will meet at 3 mos and 6 mos to evaluate progress. I'm sure part of their talk will be what will happen if schools don't sell. But a decision hasn't been made yet.
