Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

How many of you feel like you're being picked on by your Program Director or other higher ups by getting sent emails about your interactions?

I've been hearing from others that they're getting emails regarding what they're doing and to verify their activities. Are they picking their next group to be on the chopping board?

990, you're a troll moron. Sorry about that. Why don't you get a job? Can't, huh?

989, obviously you're the one who doesn't know grammar. Do your Outreach or don't. See which one of us stays at the top of the list. Me. It's ok to be a good instructor. Sorry you're not.

26989 - 26906 is obviously ESL. Oh, and communication skills are not considered essential for instructing at CCi. Harassing students to keep a little bit more financial aid; now THAT is is a valued "skill"!

Anonymous26906: Wow! From your simplistic, jilted sentence structure, I don't think you should be the one talking about instructors who are "dead weight" and praising your own talents. I don't know what you teach, but communication skills are essential to all training.

PDs have nothing better to do. They are bullies.

They have every right to verify our activities. Especially now. Student satisfaction is necessary to keep retention high.

I'm an online instructor. I know they are watching our courses carefully. I've gotten a lot of positive feedback from my boss. I know from what he tells me that he is looking in my threads. And I get a lot of thank you'd from my students for responding, followed by complaints of non responsiveness by their other instructors. They may not be just looking to laying off. They may want to get rid if dead weight professors, of which there are many, based on my students' unhappiness.

I'm ECPO (instructor.) MAJOR 'outreach' going on to instructors like I've never seen. Emails all the time about what we should be doing. And they have aPlatinum Professor initiative now. It certainly seems as if they are assessing who is and who is not doing their jobs. And it seems based on quality of work and outreach rather than just retention. At ECPO they got rid of most or all PT adjuncts, leaving FT. They will likely have to lay off for next term (if there is one.) they will use what they're observing to decide who stays and goes.

All leadership is looking to stay as busy as ever, given there's aren't the number of employees there was even last term. They want to look busy and be productive. Until they start laying off managers, they're all going to be micromanaging everyone.

Students = MONEY. They are our only source of income. They can't afford (literally) to have their usual retention rates of only 50%. They need every penny from every student.

I was working on the beach and a couple of supervisors came by and kicked sand in my face. Now I am drinking badger milk so I can grow up big and strong. Boycott Bullies!
