Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

If there is suppose to be mass layoffs, why are all the managers and supervisors sticking it out, and why do they feel like there is a good

chance will be okay?

No one really knows until we find out in 2 weeks, all these post you guys are reading our opinions, not facts!!! no ones knows if we will for the new company, or get laid off. Will just have to find out.

At least my way that is. Only a 10% pay cut. I'm just waiting for the whole thing to come crumbling down!

I think the employees with less than three years of seniority are probably wondering the most why so many haven't left. I know some people in admissions (not director level) making well over $50K and leaving would be a huge pay cut. I've also noticed a trend that the folks who are married or in a solid relationship also aren't planning on jumping ship because the household has another income to fall back on if it comes down to it.

"they could be offered a severance." Probability of that is likely under 1%.

222, yes, the bonus incentive is probably keeping some of them. I'm sure the leads at the teach outs are getting them to stay.

First, I wouldn't assume that nobody's looking. My bet is everyone has there resumes out right now. But it can take months to find a new job, and the sake/closure announcement only happened 6 or so weeks ago. Second, if management doesn't have new jobs, they aren't going to up and quit.they could be offered a severance. And you can't get unemployment for quitting. Third, they might need the money or can't find jobs that pay as much. Fourth, if they are telling you everything's going to be all right, don't listen. They have lied so often before. It's in their best interest to keep you around until they dump you. Don't make foolish assumptions just because people are doing their jobs. They're all trying to save then so they aren't unemployed. But the inevitable will happen. We are selling or closing. And there are no guarantees for emotes to stay, much less at our salaries now.

Supervisors/managers may be operating under a retention bonus that incents them to stay until the company is done with them. Their "business as usual" message is really the only one that they can deliver from a business perspective. Anything else (i.e. the truth...)would hasten the departure of those who are otherwise unable to figure out for themselves that this ship is sinking fast. What is happening in two weeks? In terms of youe other observations, why, yes, Captain Obvious, you are correct......
