Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Onalaska

In Onalaska, WI people stood outside ( at Sears) for items and then they were told they didn’t carry the item. This was on Black Friday. The manager lied and said she posted a sign saying they wouldn’t be carrying these items ( video gaming systems). Please someone tell me why we would stand in line 4 or more hours if they had a sign up saying they didn’t carry this item!!! Plus they had extra cash registers up but not one person manning them. DUH!!! They also used to have a wonderful selection of clothes-not anymore. As for K mart here-in the jewelry department many people left angry because they never got the items they advertised. We weren’t a big enough store YET we have people drive here from rural areas and Minnesota to shop. Also, why would I pay $1.50 more for dog treats when even a grocery store sells them for less. I love K mart but get a grip and lower your prices to be competitive. We already lost one years ago which was right on the busiest road and by the mall. That should have spoke volumes back then. At least at K mart they have clothes, appliances and other items to choose from compared to Sears. The only thing Sears has going for them is their tools. That;s it!!! In the scheme of things it’s sad to see a “once wonderful store” go down the tubes. I bought my first computer there and now they don’t sell them anymore either. I truly hope these CEO’s don’t get bonuses for screwing up so badly. I just find all of this kinda sad that someone ran these 2 stores into the ground the way they did. Again, on Black Friday they had one gal running the jewelry department and checking out. Little hard to sell jewelry and check out at the same time. I had been in there a few weeks earlier and they didn’t even have jewelry displayed because the gal didn’t have time to get it out. This was at 3 in the afternoon. Why didn’t the manager jump in and help. (I don’t have a working question mark on my keyboard by the way). Anyway, this gal had to call for help for over a half hour to get help (again on Black Friday). My heart went out to her. I was 4th in line and the 3 people before only had a few items and it took 45 minutes to checkout. Great management there!!! They same manager that lied and said she posted notes on the door. Did I mention that one gal who was in line for 4 hours was in a wheelchair! She left crying and angry. UNBEIVABLE!!! But to lie about it. The only postitve thing I can say is that we were there for these e-tablets. They said only one per customer. We needed 2 but that was a mute issue for us because there was 2 of us. Unlike Walmart who only had six of one item and sold 3 to one person (again after people stood in line for several hours). Sears had many of the items they did carry and made it fair to each customer (although they didn’t advertise only one per customer). I have ranted enough but Chris I totally agree with you-tools, yes but very poor selection and quality. I am disabled to my dollar has to stretch therefore quality means everything to me. Sears does not have that any longer. MAYBE if they took these complaints seriously something could be done but when I called the manager about the bad service I got this, “Oh well!!!” attitude. Makes you want to rush right back there doesn’rit!
