Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

Just do it already

CCI why don't you just go ahead and file bankruptcy already and stop torturing your employees and students. This is pathetic. At least people can get unemployment while they continue to look for a job. The students may be better off if their loans get relieved or if they are forced to go and get a REAL education anyway. Why keep the employees in limbo every time we turn around it's some new bull$hit. Pay cut, we don't know if payroll will be on time, no raises for two years( Jack got his raise though), Furlough, another pay cut, bull$hit propaganda, human lies, benefit cuts, can't pay rent. And for you smart A$$es that say just quit or look for another job, we ARE looking for another job. Just would be nice to be able to get unemployment while we wait for background checks, decisions, interviews etc. Most people have started looking, but it can take up to two months or longer to land your but in the actual chair and start at the new company. This company is just trying to squeeze every penny they can get before the fall and they can't do it without employees or students.

Unemployment is good for 6 months only. Don't think you can get an extension. It's best to did a job while you have a job.

"Unemployment insurance is paid by employers." Employees earn the benefit, no matter your semantics.

377, I really don't care. I have the same right as you to state an opinion. I'm not a democrat. However, I refuse to have a battle of wits with someone who is unarmed. Good luck in your anger management classes. I'm bored, so I'm out, bitches.

374 - look up the term welfare - its all included you ignorant democrat - let the state take care of me for making bad choices and not expecting to have to correct them on my own. Let the state reward bad behavior - let the state take care of me - where's the money coming from? Raise taxes? Borrow more? Bankrupt the state ala Michigan? Greece? Spain? Venezuela? Argentina? And btw, state refers to a governing entity, not its literal US definition - in case you wanted to challenge that too.

365 - nice. all others voted for Obama. No logic. Just stay at your desk or whatever and network all day. What's the worst that can happen? You collect your paycheck for a while longer and they fire you. Then you collect the lower UE benefits.

If you can't pay rent now, how will unemployment help?

Well getting unemployment is better than just quitting because you are just tired of the BS you know. Some people just up and quit without jobs. I kind of wish they would just close or layoff right now, so I can get unemployment and focus on my part time business and make it full time.

Some people actually live BELOW their means and may just not want to deal with the BS and stress that comes with working for this pathetic company. Maybe they can afford to get unemployment for a 2 weeks to a few months in peace while they continue the job hunt and wait for background checks, etc. Maybe they have been fortunate enough to save some money or they have a spouse that can take up the slack.

Unemployment in Florida is a whopping $275 week MAX

I'd rather dedicate 100% of my time at two-thirds of my pay toward obtaining something better. Sure I get paid for every hour spent a work, but this week that will be zero hours for ZERO PAY. Unemployment is better than that, and the unemployment office is much more dependable. The hours I do spend at work I constantly think about finding something better. Now I wish I were one of the early ones to go.

Wow, would you really be better off getting 60% of 67.50% while looking for a new job. Just 'sayin'. keep you paycheck while looking for a new job rather than take a pay cut on unemployment benefits - wtf???????
