I would take a "GED Grease Monkey" with 20 years experience as an Instructor over a Political Science Degree from a community college ANY day.
I have seen plenty of very smart people that have big paper but do not know which way to turn a screwdriver. All a degree means in most trades is that you have the ability to learn. Never know until you actually get out of the classroom and walk the walk.
"Those who can do. Those who cant go to school and get a big degree" or teach.

38331, Before accusing an instructor of being an “asshole” and thinking that he/she is better than anyone else, you are incorrect with your interjection and here’s why. Just take a moment and get your feelings off of your sleeve for a minute because this is not an attack (and neither was the other instructor’s post). The instructors on my team really do feel sorry for the students. We have tried to fight on the student’s behalf to adequately prepare them for the workplace and career advancement. We are not permitted to do so and the classes are set up so that they can attend and be pushed through. Why? The answer is that CCi cares about the money, not the students, not the instructors, not the admissions reps, not anyone. Only the money. If you gathered that and instructor was being an “asshole” and acting as if he/she is “above others” from the post that you read, then you may need to have a self-esteem check (no offense). What the instructor said was true.
Sorry but you are wrong. Instructors see these students every single day. And it is obvious to us that the ones who want to succeed do and those who skip by thinking it is high school do not. I have been teaching for over ten years and I can tell by the second day who will succeed and who will not. At least this person had a shot and blew it. If schools like CCI are no longer around GOOD LUCK with even a shot

317, correction! Grad from a CCi school does not constitute that ANY books were read, EVER, and let's not confuse the word education with diploma mill. He paid 45K to be pushed through to get a piece of paper that is worthless. I will give the OP credit, he writes a million times better than the students I have in my class! I feel sorry for any student who has a CCi "piece of paper".
8313 The OP said they are a grad meaning he read the books and successfully completed his program. Wtf are you talking about he simply stated he does not feel the education he received was worth 45k. I totally agree, it's outrageous.I really hope your not an instructor.
I bet you missed 24 hours every phase and slept in class. Your lack of education is never your fault, always the school and instructors. And you probably should have saved your money and went to work, at McDonalds. But of course you probably couldn't keep a job there either, I hear they have a cell phone policy.
